Avoid this clinic at all costs. Reviews mentioning that Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is now in partnership with Community Veterinary Partners and TerraVet Real Estate solutions are accurate. These companies acquire clinics and expand the services "to be state of the art," but those upgrades come with a significant price premium compared to before the acquisition.

Be prepared for sticker shock. The low and high estimates presented are substantial, and full payment of the low-end estimate is required before treatment begins.

The demeanor of the veterinarians felt hardened and uncaring. Phrases like "I just work here and I don't set the prices" are common. There appears to be high staff turnover, as veterinarians we previously worked with are no longer there. We also did not receive follow-up calls regarding our pet, despite the high cost of care.

In the last year alone, I spent over $3,000 here to remove a blockage in my dog. More recently, a 10-year old Lab/Shepherd mix in my immediate family was brought in for a foreign body obstruction.

- Estimated cost for a 2-day stay: ~$3,000+
- Extended to 3 days: ~$6,000+
- Surgery estimate: $7,000+ - $10,000+

Despite the dog also having pneumonia, and other pre-existing conditions documented by a prior veterinarian, surgery was aggressively pushed as the primary option. Given the overall health outlook and financial burden, we declined treatment and took the dog home.

Pet owners beware!

1/31/26 - Response to owner

We disagree with the characterization of our interaction. We were emotional, but not verbally harassing staff. During the second consultation—after refusing treatment due to cost—no alternative payment options were presented, nor was speaking with management offered. The estimate felt very much “take it or leave it.”

There was also a clear discrepancy between the prior veterinarian’s recommendation (treat pneumonia before surgery) and your clinic’s approach, which strongly pushed immediate surgery—the most expensive option.

While you state pricing reflects the level of medicine practiced, emergency veterinary clinics increasingly operate with corporate pricing models, without the same ethical or legal obligation to treat when clients cannot afford care. ROI for corporate partners is clearly built into pricing.

We were asked to sign a liability release before leaving with our dog. We refused and were still allowed to leave, which underscores how one-sided the process felt.

Prices aren’t based on affordability. They’re based on what the public is willing to pay.
A double-edged sword.

After moving to Pennsylvania and having a hiking incident where my puppy got infested with ticks, my fiancé and I were scrambling to find a new vet that would quickly accept an emergency walk-in for a reasonable price. This clinic checked all the boxes. Then, when it came time for my puppy to get a spaying procedure, it was a no-brainer to take her to Quakertown for pre-op bloodwork/getting a quote for the surgery. Not only is this place reasonably priced, but Dr John Hurst is phenomenal. He is kind, an active listener, and even got on the floor to interact with our crazy energetic puppy. It’s so beautiful to see someone that human, while also being professional. I don’t write Google reviews often, but I’m hoping this helps a worrisome pet parent find the reassurance that this clinic is wonderful. Dr Hurst called me before the surgery and answered all questions I had, and gave me a call right after the procedure was done. The clinic also gave text updates! I will bring my Maple here for the rest of her life. Thank you all for the wonderful work you do each day.
Caring and knowledgeable!!
We love Destiny and Dr. Geller for having them both save the lives of our dog Saki( pancreatitis ) and cats Flo ( kidney disease and thyroid disease) and Shadow ( diabetes). We have learned a lot, and the clinical trials program has saved our animals. We are eternally grateful to all of you.

I was desperate and didn't know what to do with my dog who would have seizures and immediately have an hours long panic attack after. My previous vet was not willing to try anything other than more anti-anxiety drugs. Dr. Luchenbach listened and found a great solution that has made this last year the best year yet.

My cat Cordelia had to go in for emergency surgery on a linear foreign body. The staff here were incredibly kind and patient with me and my questions as a new cat owner, especially during this difficult time. They sent an update photo of her after she got out of surgery, and called me with updates throughout. Dr. Lehr did a great job! While I was there I saw the emergency staff helping many other pets and the overall tone was overall ideal for an emergency setting. Pricing was fair, and transparent estimates were given throughout the process. I would not hesitate to take a pet here in an emergency.

I had a great experience with QVC. I brought in my 12 year old cat, whom is very difficult to transport and handle. I was expecting the worst but the veterinarian Dr. Ognibene and her assistant were able to handle and treat my kitty even after she tried to escape.
